This year we’re thrilled to welcome two accomplished Gilpin alumni and GCEF scholarship recipients as our speakers.
Katura Atherton
Katura is a proud Gilpin County School graduate (Class of 2013) who returned home to serve the community that shaped her. As a student, she was deeply involved in academics, athletics, and leadership, sparking her interest in sports medicine.
After earning her degree in athletic training from Missouri Valley College (where she also played varsity basketball), Katura returned to Gilpin County to raise her family and begin her career at Gilpin schools. Since 2017, she has served as athletic trainer, coach, and educator, and in 2023 she earned her Master’s in Education in Athletic Administration from William Woods University. She now leads the varsity girls basketball program.
Katura is passionate about supporting the health, growth, and success of Gilpin County’s student-athletes.
Faith Ramsey
Faith is a Gilpin County High School graduate (Class of 2025) and a current student-athlete at Colorado Christian University, where she competes in collegiate basketball. Faith is pursuing a degree in industrial engineering and is deeply committed to excellence in both her academics and athletics.
